GS Yuasa celebrated the opening of its new state-of-the-art facility in Swindon yesterday. The facility will serve as the headquarters for GS Yuasa Battery Europe Ltd, sales and distribution centre for GS Yuasa Battery Sales UK Ltd.
President Osamu Murao officially opened GS Yuasa’s brand-new headquarters at Ignition Park, Swindon on Monday the 18th of September. The event welcomed 100 guests including suppliers, local dignitaries, GS Yuasa colleagues and featured a Japanese-themed ceremony.
Yuasa begun construction of their new headquarters and distribution centre, which is a 178,500ft2 purpose-built facility, in March of last year. The new warehouse incorporates the latest state of the art warehouse equipment, processing, and distribution facilities. The cutting-edge technologies have been integrated to ensure that GS Yuasa continues to grow and expand over the next 10 to 15 years.
The warehouse systems include automated shuffle racking, AGV reach trucks and pick tunnels to improve order processing capacity and operational effectiveness. GS Yuasa Battery Europe will also relocate from current offices at the supplier’s UK factory in Ebbw Vale, Wales.
